Quilt

Description

Crazy quilt typical to the style created by Olivia Hardesty Kirk Conkling (1850-1934), the wife of William H. Conkling, who was the president of the Savings Bank of Baltimore. The quilt has a 42-block design with a double border of yellow silk ribbon and black silk velvet. There are many embroidered designs on the pieced blocks; most notably Kate Greenway's designs and birds, fruits, fans, and flowers.
