Daguerreotype portrait of Julia Frances Shaaff Brice (1828-1882), daughter of Mary Athenia Forsyth and Arthur Shaaff (1804-1834) of Washington, D.C. Circa 1849, she married Richard Tilghman Brice (1813-1851) of Baltimore. The couple moved to Georgia and had one son, Arthur Tilghman Brice (1850-1935), married Jane Frances Pendleton.
