Daguerreotype portrait of Ellen M. Clayton (1810-1901), wife of John L. Clayton (1798-1861) of Elkton, Maryland. The couple were married circa 1834 and were parents to: James White (1835-1880), married Mary Evans; Henry (1837-1888); Theodore (1839-1917); John Polk (1841-); and Julius (1842-1916).
