Pitcher

Description

Creamware pitcher with bulbous form and black transfer printed designs on front and sides. The front bears the motto, "SUCCESS TO THE INFANT NAVY OF AMERICA" inside a wreath. One side features images of the shipbuilding process from tree to finished ship with words of a poem beginning, "Our Mountains are cover'd with Imperial Oak." The other side depicts a naval battle between the American frigate Constellation and L'Insurgent French Frigate above a description of the Constellation's success.
