Excerpts from The Maryland Almanak 1768

Description

Front cover and five pages from a copy of The Maryland Almanak for the year 1768, published in 1767 by Maryland printer and publisher Anne Catherine (Hoof) Green, one of the first women publishers in the American colonies. Anne and her husband Jonas Green published the Maryland Gazette together from 1745 until his death in 1767, at which time Anne took over the press. She continued producing the newspaper while also publishing government documents, political pamphlets, and this almanac.
