Description
A damaged structure following a storm and flooding in Tolchester, Maryland. The building is missing its roof and has been hit by fallen trees. Tolchester was the site of the Tolchester Beach Amusement Park, which consisted of a bathing beach, amusement park, racetrack, and hotel, and was in operation from 1877 to 1962. The Kent County park was a popular vacation destination for Baltimoreans as it was only 27 miles across the Chesapeake Bay and the Tolchester Steamboat Company ran daily excursions to Tolchester from Baltimore, Maryland.
