Bargello Embroidered Wallet

Description

Bargello embroidered or crewel worked multi-colored wallet with chevron pattern. Made by Esther Duche (1767-1835) for her father, probably the Rev. Jacob Duche (1737-1798), the first Chaplain of Congress. Interior embroidered on one side, "Jacob," and on other side, "Duche."
