4600 block of Falls Road

Description

Looking north along the 4600 block of Falls Road from West Cold Spring Lane in the Cross Keys Village neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. Rowhomes, an automobile, and streetcar tracks are visible. Named after a nearby inn, Cross Keys Village was established by African Americans after the Civil War. In the 1960s, the majority of the houses in the neighborhood were razed to make room for the development of the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute-Western High School campus.
