Resilient

250 Years of Ellicott City - Open through March 12, 2023

In honor of Ellicott City’s 250th anniversary, this exhibition highlights the evolution of industry in the town of Ellicott City over the past two and half centuries, and the city’s remarkable resilience in the face of floods and fires.

Photographs, drawings, paintings, early maps, and objects from MCHC’s collection tell the story of Ellicott CIty’s emergence as an industrial town founded by the Ellicott brothers, Joseph, Andrew, and John, who established mills along the Patapsco River.

Open June 17, 2022 through March 2023.
