Career Day: Photos by Henderson

You may remember having Career Day in school growing up, a day where adults come into your classroom and talk about their line of work. There are countless types of jobs from manufacturing to paper pushing to directing traffic from a barrel on the side of the road (just wait until you see that one). Our new series called "Career Day" explores the settings in which people made their living.

WSID was a prominent radio station that was touted as "Baltimore's #1 black station." Created in 1947 by Sidney Tinsley, its new owner in 1949 adjusted the programming to appeal to African-American listeners. The morning consisted of gospel music, and the afternoon and evening offered R&B. WSID's AM station continued to operate until 1983.

The images below depict an unidentified woman. We would love for any help in finding her name!
