Laymon Yokely throwing baseball

Description

Laymon Samuel Yokely (1906-1975) throwing a baseball at Maryland Park stadium in Baltimore, Maryland. Yokely was a pitcher in the Negro leagues and played for the Baltimore Black Sox from 1926 to 1933 and for the Baltimore Elite Giants in 1944. He was considered the ace pitcher for the Black Sox in his years with the team. Seen here in his Black Sox uniform, this photo was taken between 1929 and 1930.
